[Lark] This is a question for those who switch, and who don't use fronting identifiers like nametags or Simply Plural. How do you identify who is at front when interacting, in-person, with someone who is aware of your plurality? (If you do so at all, of course.)

Is it awkward to do so? How do you manage that awkwardness?

Sneak: We usually just let people ask, but we've seen people do all sorts of neat jewelry--bracelets, rings, switchable shrinkydink pendants--to signify! :D

i don't talk to anyone in real life about my alters, but online, i use pluralkit sometimes. and on dreamwidth, well... it's a game of guess who but occasionally an alter will use one of my icons to "sign off". (for example, if fool's gold was typing, he would use the "fool's gold" icon.)

We tell people to ask. There are few enough stable people here that other people do eventually learn to spot us without needing to ask every time- a few close friends can recognize us without prompting, which is impressive to me. It is appreciated.

If we need a physical marker in a pinch, then we have keychains that we can use, or we will sometimes clip color-coded barrettes to our shirt.
