communication
Sunday, 22 February 2026 09:43 pmjolik: how do you tend to communicate with each other? maybe you leave notes around your room, maybe you beam emotions to each other, maybe you message each other over a chat program, maybe you do something else...?
bonus optional related questions if you want more questions:
- have you ever tried other methods of communication? did they work for you?
- do different headmates use different methods of communication? has this ever caused any issues or problems?
- have your main method(s) of communication ever stopped working (either temporarily or permanently)? how did you communicate in the meantime?

Date: 2026-02-23 07:16 pm (UTC)Or we communicate through writing for more important conversations and when we aren't in a public space where doing so isn't the best idea.
We tried an aac app, but it ended up not being needed for us. But we will be willing to do the same again if like, say a headmate needed it and it couldn't do the other methods above.
If we were to go through a period where internal communication is hard we'd likely switch to external ones or more vibe based ways of communication

Date: 2026-03-01 12:17 am (UTC)We don't have a need for leaving notes around since we're fairly co-conscious. But we have typed things down before on our notes app as future reminders to ourselves, and we've also communicated via a chat program called MultiChat when we need our whole conversation on the record.

Date: 2026-03-07 10:20 am (UTC)when communication is hard or needs to be externally visualized we will have short convos on Utter.
sometimes everything goes silent, when we are feeling particularly unwell. the worse we are doing mentally the more like a singlet we feel and operate, the better we are doing, the more plural we are.
We can also share memories with each other, but that can be quite a difficult thing to do. we have this sort of process of sitting down and working through our memories so that we can remember everything that happened the past few days/weeks/hours. it is a regular process and part of the rhythm of our daily life but it can be hard and not always successful.
also! our other wigglier way of communicating is through fashion. sometimes we can't tell who is around or what they want/need but we can deduce things about that based on what clothes we are getting dressed in. it is sort of a language in itself if you learn to listen to it.
